Yesterday we just reported that Samsung applied for a patent for under-screen fingerprint recognition, but it is based on OLED flexible screen technology. Now JDI officially announced that they have developed a transparent fingerprint recognition sensor that can be applied to smartphones in the future.

According to JDI's official introduction, unlike traditional fingerprint recognition sensors made of silicon, JDI's fingerprint recognition sensors use Pixel Eyes technology, which directly embeds capacitive touch sensors into the LCD panel. When the mobile phone touches the screen, the fingerprint sensor can detect this signal and complete the unlocking. The sensor is integrated on a highly transparent glass substrate.

It is reported that this under-screen fingerprint recognition sensor is directly integrated into the LCD screen. The sensor size is 8mm8mm and is expected to be shipped in March 2019. However, the speed and accuracy of fingerprint recognition are not clear, but since it can be shipped, there should be no major problems in the application. This may be a perfect solution for full-screen mobile phones in the future
